If you’re tasked with picking up a loved one at DFW Airport, all we have to say is “good luck.”
In a new study by Upgraded Points, DFW ranked dead last in a study of the country’s largest 50 airports for their ease of picking up a passenger.
DFW received the lowest score of 31.4, thanks in part to a few factors including:
-DFW sits 23 miles from the “combined” city center.
-The two cellphone lots sit an average of 2.16 miles away from the terminals.
-Arriving flights experience an average delay of 20.8 minutes.
-Planes spend another 13.8 minutes taxiing to gates after landing.
DFW also received the lowest “rideshare separation score,” which measures “how much rideshare vehicles and other vehicles must jockey for the same passenger-pickup space within the same terminal roadway system,” according to CultureMap Dallas.
Our other major airport, Dallas Love Field, ranked 7th in the study.
John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California proved to be the easiest airport to pick up a passenger and had a total score of 85.
