It has been over two years since CBS first announced a new reboot of ‘The Equalizer’ starring Queen Latifah was in the works. Now, with the series weeks away from its premiere, the first trailer for the show has finally been released. Fan anticipation is now at an all-time high, with many praising Queen Latifah’s tough look in the trailer.

The original ‘Equalizer’ series ran on CBS for four years in the 80’s, and was later turned into a film starring Denzel Washington in 2014. Now, with the new series set to return to CBS after the Super Bowl, fans are excited to see what the new version has to offer. As seen in the trailer, Latifah plays Robyn McCall, who recently quit her job, and is now “the one you call when you can’t call 911.”

Fans quickly turned to social media to praise Queen Latifah’s performance just based on the trailer released over the weekend. With two years of anticipation building, the show has thus far met expectations. Hopefully the premiere continues to meet those same standards.
