It seems highway construction in DFW has been an everyday occurrence for years now. With multiple projects currently underway, it’s hard to find a highway without some form of road work happening. Now, TxDOT has begun yet another project, as they recently broke ground on the latest phase of their Rockwall I-30 expansion.
Back in 2021, TxDOT began their 334 million project to expand I-30 in Rockwall, and improve the highway over Lake Ray Hubbard. Now, phase two of the project has begun, as construction crews recently broke ground on the segment of highway between Dalrock Road and State Highway 205. According to NBC DFW, construction on the third segment is set to begin later this year.
“We do ask for drivers’ patience. We're going to have a lot of work going on. We're going to have a lot of people out there on the roads working, so stay off your phones. Slow down,” said Ceason Clemens, Dallas District Engineer for TxDOT. While the construction may seem to be never ending, soon drivers will see it was worth the wait.
