Having X-Ray vision is a superpower we've only been ever to dream of having.  Thanks to a professor at the University of Texas at Dallas, all it takes is a smartphone for that dream to become a reality.

Kenneth O, a professor of electrical engineering at UTD, is developing a chip that would give our phones the ability to see through materials like cardboard, paper, chocolates, and even some fabrics.

Yes, this chip would potentially allow you to see through someone's clothes.

O's research was published in research was published in IEEE Transactions on Terahertz Science and Technology, and at the moment the technology can only pick up images from an inch away.

O believes that with further research, it would be able to pick up, and look through, objects up to ten inches away, which he knows could open the door for all sorts of issues.

O told the Dallas Morning News, "There are real privacy concerns if the range becomes too large. It can raise all kinds of issues and potentially cause problems. So we really like to limit the capability."
