The Alamo holds a sacred place in every Texan’s heart.  It’s where Texas fought for its independence and is a source of pride across the Lone Star State.

However, for the rest of the country, the Alamo appears to be nothing but a waste of time.

Casino.org analyzed Google Trends and Tripadvisor to find the biggest rip-offs regarding tourist attractions across the country, and unfortunately, the Alamo found itself as the third biggest rip-off in the nation.

Disney World ranked as the biggest rip-off in the nation, followed by the National Mall in Washington D.C.

Most of the ire of visiting the Alamo comes from the price of tickets to get the full experience of the site.  While free on the surface, a self-guided tour is $20, a guided tour is $45, and group tours start at $20 per person, while adding the Alamo Exhibit tickets will cost an extra $14.

Texans do not believe visiting the Alamo is a rip-off, though.  Still, it comes as a little bit of a surprise that the collected data found that “going to the rodeo” is the biggest rip-off in the state.
