Spotting a bobcat in North Texas isn’t exactly rare, yet it’s always excited when someone in DFW spots one doing more than just passing by their security cameras at night. That’s why one metroplex resident is going viral after capturing video of a family of bobcats playing on a golf course in the middle of the day. As seen in the clip, the mother bobcat lounges, as her three little ones do some roughhousing near a fairway on the Gleneagles golf course.

Brian Hughes was shocked recently when he took a look outside his home that sits along the course at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano only to find a group of bobcats right outside his door. “They were playing so much they sometimes fell into the creek water. I was fortunate to see it, and it was awesome to film it,” said Hughes. According to WFAA, Texas Parks and Wildlife claims this is actually quite a rare bobcat sighting.

Though a creek is nearby the home, bobcats don’t normally stay long in areas around humans. However, that could become more common as North Texas grows and invades natural habitats for the wildcats. Hopefully the bobcats on the golf course didn’t ruin too many golf scores that day.
