We knew this day was coming, and it has finally arrived. Waymo has officially launched their driverless robotaxis in Dallas.
For now, they’ll only cover about a 50-square-mile area.
According to the Dallas Morning News, that area include south into Bishop Arts and parts of South Dallas, east through Deep Ellum, west through Love Field, and north all the way to University Park.
Though we suspect they will eventually come, rides to the airports are currently not available.
Major Eric Johnson said in a statement, “Dallas is excited for Waymo to launch operations in our city, providing Dallas residents and visitors with new, innovative transportation options.
“The availability of Waymo’s fully autonomous ride service further cements Dallas’s reputation as one of America’s most innovative and dynamic cities. Together, we are putting public safety first while building a more connected city.”
