The robotaxi service Waymo announced yesterday that they would be bringing their vehicles to Dallas next year!
According to a statement on their website, they will be partnering with the rental car company Avis who will be managing the fleet of cars in the Big D.
Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert said, "We are excited that fully autonomous ride-hailing services are scheduled to begin in Dallas next year.
"The Waymo and Avis partnership will offer an innovative, technology-based transportation option for our residents and visitors. We look forward to the launch of this new service."
According to CNBC, Waymo robotaxi testing is already underway in downtown Dallas with the company's Jaguar I-PACE electric vehicles with the Waymo Driver system.
Beginning next year, customers in Dallas will be able to hail a driverless ride using the Waymo app.
