It was quite the evening for a Fort Worth man last week, who said he was attacked by a woman with an axe before returning to his shift at a nearby Whataburger.

The man went to a vape shop on Meadowbrook Drive before his shift at the Whataburger at 1425 Eastchase Parkway, only to return to the shop during his break to look for his phone.

The victim, identified only by the name "School," says he was talking to another man near the shop when a woman claiming to be the other man's girlfriend came up to him and attacked him with an axe, apparently because the woman thought the two men were talking about her.

School told NBC DFW that thankfully he was able to escape the woman with only some slashes to his arm and ten staples in his head.

Tracy Knight, a public information officer with the Fort Worth Police Department, is asking for anyone who may have witnessed the attack to come forward.  He said, "Again, this is something we shouldn't see, but we want to find out who did this to this gentleman and at least talk to them and see what's going on."

Knight does believe, though, that this was an isolated incident and there is "no threat" to the public.
