Matt Boone
An East Bay native, Matt is an award-winning multimedia journalist who has reported from all over the state of California but has always considered the Bay Area his home. He joined KCBS Radio in October of 2020.
He began his career as a news writer at KABC Eyewitness News in Los Angeles before moving to KBAK in Bakersfield where he began working as a reporter. He also spent several years reporting at KGTV in San Diego, where he won a regional Emmy.
A graduate of Yale University, Matt studied music and audio engineering.
An avid swimmer, he also enjoys Scandinavian metal, craft beer and exploring California with his boyfriend and their Hungarian Puli, Lupe.
