Two shootings in San Francisco and one in Oakland left 15 people injured this weekend.
One of the San Francisco shootings happened in the Bayview District, and the other in the Tenderloin.
The San Francisco Police Department tweeted that officers responded to the Bayview neighborhood at about 6 p.m. Saturday, after receiving multiple 911 calls about a shooting near the intersections of Third Street and Quesada Avenue.
Six victims were shot, and all were in stable condition in the hospital, according to officials.
Three more were shot in a second incident in the Tenderloin neighborhood early Sunday morning, and at least one of those victims had life-threatening injuries.
SFPD Spokesman Robert Rueca told KCBS Radio that the violence is alarming.
“We have increased patrols in the area as well as in other districts that might be affected by this violence,” he said. “At this time, it hasn’t been determined if these two incidents are related in any way, but we are looking at all aspects for that.”
Police have not yet released any description of possible suspects.
The two shootings came after six people were shot in Oakland early Saturday.
“We are aware of the shooting that occurred in Oakland and we are looking at any possible ties that they might be related,” said Rueca. “At this time, it hasn’t been determined that they are.”
Oakland officers responding to reports of gunfire just blocks away from police headquarters found six men with non-life-threatening injuries at about 1 a.m. Saturday.
All six victims were hospitalized in stable condition, police said.
Their names were not released.
No suspect information was available. A $30,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest in the Oakland shooting.
