Police responded to a shooting on a Muni train between the city's Forest Hills and Castro stations just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday. One victim, a 70-year-old man, was transported to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries while the other, Nesta Bowen, 27, died at the scene.
Bowen was born in Oakland but grew up in Stockton, Bowen's father, George Bowen, told the San Francisco Chronicle on Thursday. His mother passed away four years ago from cancer. Bowen was passionate about making music. His parents were both involved in the music scene and he followed suit, working as a producer and rapper.
He also took graphic art classes and was most recently employed at the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, the paper reported.
