The Contra Costa County Coroner's Office revealed Wednesday that James was one of the victims who died in the fiery crash Sunday morning when she drove the wrong way down I-80 in Contra Costa County. The other victim who also died at the scene was identified as Ruiju Ma, 38, of Vallejo.

According to a spokesperson from the California Highway Patrol, while driving her Honda SUV, James hit a Tesla Model 3 head-on, killing herself and the other driver. A Toyota Camry also crashed into the Honda and Tesla, but the driver survived with minor injuries.

The incident is under investigation.

The coroner's office told KCBS Radio it is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
