PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Allegheny County Controller Chelsa Wagner will stand trial again in Detroit, according to her defense team.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the new trial is for a felony charge of assaulting, resisting and obstruction of a police officer.
Wagner is accused of getting into a physical altercation with a Detroit police officer as they attempted to remove her husband from a hotel for an alleged disturbance in March.
She was acquitted of a misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct in her first trial back in November where a hung jury could not reach a decision regarding the felony charge.
Wagner is discussing the possibility of a plea deal but said she still wants a full acquittal.
The new trial date is scheduled for April 20th.
