Pittsburgh (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Former Chairman and CEO of the Massey Energy Company, Don Blankenship, is the Constitution Party's Nominee for U.S. President.
"I'm not running to benefit Washington D.C., I'm looking to benefit Americans," Blankenship said during an interview with the KDKA Radio Morning Show on Tuesday. "I know how the system works and I know how to make the changes in the system, so there's a lot that I can do for the regular American person."
He wants to see solutions to the country's problems instead of the ongoing drama.
"We can solve the problems whether it has to do with the budget, or has to do with term limits, or has to do with Covid-19," Blankenship explains.
Blankenship, served a one-year prison term on a misdemeanor conviction for conspiring to violate federal mine safety standards at Massey's Upper Big Branch Mine, where 29 miners were killed in a 2010 explosion.
Blankenship also unsuccessfully ran for Senate in West Virginia back in 2018, losing a three-way primary.
President Trump asked voters not to choose Blankenship during his Senate run.
Blankenship also faced criticism for unfounded attacks on Senate leader Mitch McConnell calling him "Cocaine Mitch" and claimed he created millions of jobs for "China people."
