The state Insurance Commissioner says there are more automated calls during ACA open enrollment, and that consumers should be wary of any unsolicited health insurance sales calls.
Consumers can add their number to the National Do Not Call Registry, and should avoid pressing any keys or answering any prompts during automated calls.
This signals to the company that the number is active and could result in more calls.
Suspicious calls can be reported to the Insurance Department or Attorney General’s office.
