PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Three Allegheny County Jail inmates are filing a federal class action lawsuit Wednesday against the county, claiming dangerous conditions during the coronavirus epidemic.
The inmates say they are living in cells together unnecessarily after 20 percent of the population was released.
The plaintiffs claim health conditions that make them vulnerable to the virus.
The ACLU and Abolitionist Law Center hope to represent all inmates at the Allegheny County Jail in the suit that claims violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Fourteenth Amendment.
