Jefferson Hills Officer Involved In Crash Has Died

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Jefferson Hills Police Officer Injured in a crash on June 3 had died.

Officer Dale Provins died at the hospital over the weekend. He’d been with the department for 15 years.

“The Jefferson Hills Police Department mourns the loss of Officer Provins. Dale's colleagues in the Department and in the Borough admired him, his sense of humor and kindness. Losing one of our own is extremely difficult. Our condolences go out to Dale's family and friends; we share in their grief,” the department said in a release.

His police cruiser collided with another vehicle in the 200 block of Old Clairton Road, causing the other car to roll over.

The collision is still under investigation but the incident did not involve a police chase.

Funeral arrangements for Officer Provins will be shared once they become public.
