PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — It’s race day; the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon is this weekend. Getting around town this weekend will be fun for runners, but not for motorists.
Road closures will begin at noon Friday, with the closure of Bouleverd of the Allies between Wood and Stanwix Streets. This will last until all races are complete.
There will be closures on the North Shore and Downtown on Saturday morning for the 5K and Kids Marathon.
The most disruptive closures start at 1:30 a.m. Sunday for the main event. The full marathon winds through 13 city neighborhoods through the North Side, West End, South Side, East End and Downtown, with rolling closures and re-openings until 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
See the marathon course, detours, maps, and a full list of closures here.
Motorists can also download the Waze app. The entire course and all related closures are on the GPS app.
The City of Pittsburgh will tow vehicles left along the route, so read those no parking signs carefully.
