PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle was kind enough to catch up with Larry Richert and John Shumway on Thursday in Bradenton to answer a few questions about the 2019 season.
He tells the guys that he is excited about the pitching staff this year, and believes their maturation and ownership are a big part of their success.
“These guys have decided and become intentional upon what they want to do, how they want to do it together, and where they are going to go together,” Hurdle tells KDKA Radio.
“Many of the men have come through our own system; we’ve added some guys externally that really have become cohesive along with them.”
Their starting rotation is expected to be one of the strongest in the National League.
