PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh Police have released a statistical report on violent crime in the central business district.
Overall the report shows violent crime for the first eight month of this year is unchanged from the previous five-year average.
But there are some exceptions.
There have been nine rapes so far this year.
The five year average is there and a half.
Assaults are also up 89 percent.
Robberies and burglaries are down.
The most common police calls over the past year have been for a disorderly person, burglary alarm and parking complains.
The report follows four stabbings, one of them fatal, downtown last month.
