Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest In West Mifflin Murder Last Month

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A traffic stop in the State of Indiana has led to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a local murder.

Allegheny County Police say Daymond Wiggins is now in custody after he was pulled over in Laporte County, Indiana on Monday.

Police say Wiggins shot and killed 45-year-old Thomas Johnson on May 18 on Midway Drive in West Mifflin.

When police arrived on the scene, Thomas was found dead.

Two days later an arrest warrant was issued for Wiggins in connection with the murder.

Wiggins is currently awaiting extradition back to the area.
