PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The University of Pittsburgh has announced they will begin randomly testing students for coronavirus.
Beginning Wednesday, the University of Pittsburgh’s COVID-19 Medical Response Team will randomly select from every incoming student, including including undergraduate, graduate, and off-campus students.
Students will be given warning by email 24 to 48 hours before their scheduled test.
Even if no symptoms are being shown, a student may still be selected at random for a test.
The tests will be self administered by the students when they receive a test kit on the day of their random test.
The University’s COVID-19 Medical Response Team says tests results should be returned within two to three days.
If a student does test positive the Student Health Service will set a plan of action for the student.
