NEW CUMBERLAND, Wv. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - New Cumberland County, West Virginia says "no more" to selling alcohol to anyone from out-of-state.

Businesses in the county between Ohio and Pennsylvania will only sell alcohol to customers with West Virginia IDs.

The order takes effect Monday, April 6 at noon and will remain in effect until the Hancock County Board of Health rescinds it.

Officials say the order is an attempt to limit viral spread from neighboring states with more cases of COVID-19.

"Our surrounding states have much higher rates of COVID-19 and we do not want it further spreading in Hancock County," a release states.

Sanitation and social distancing regulations have also been implemented for liquor stores.
