Eight illegal guns recovered by Pittsburgh Police in last four days

Pittsburgh Police have recovered eight illegal firearms over the past four days.

The guns were confiscated between Thursday and Sunday.

Public Safety says on Sunday, officers responded to a nine-round ShotSpotter at Herschel Park in Elliott. Police learned that two people in black hoodies got into a gray hoodies around the same time the shots were fired.

Officers heard shot fired while on the scene from the west and were able to find a car with three juveniles inside.

Two guns were found and the juveniles were released into parent custody.

In Zone 5, three different traffic stop and an investigation of suspicious activity resulted in six firearms recovered.

One was stolen, the other five were in possession of someone who did not have a license to carry or had an invalid license.

Four adults have been arrested and applications for two adult arrest warrants.
