A Consumer Alert has been issued for a grocery store in Pittsburgh, while another has been resolved at a pizzeria.

The Allegheny County Health Department issued the alert for Oak Hill Market on the 500 block of Oak Hill Drive in Terrace Village (between the Hill District and Oakland).

An inspection shows 17 total violations recorded by inspectors.

Some of the “high risk” violations include the machine used to make slushees was “not properly sanitized” before using and raw eggs were stored above ready-to-eat food and drink.

Rodent droppings too “many to count” were found in corners of the store and under shelves.

A bag of cheese curls was found “gnawed” on and there was evidence of a nest along a wall.

A repeat violation was also observed. No certified Food Protection Manager was on site at the time of inspection.

The store will be under Consumer Alert until reinspection. A report shows an inspection is planned for June 27.

Also, a Consumer Alert has ended after Mia Pizza on Baum Boulevard in Bloomfield passed a reinspection on June 18.
