A café in Pittsburgh was ordered closed on Monday by the Allegheny County Health Department after sewage backup was discovered.
An inspection shows La Prima Espresso on 5th Avenue in Oakland was ordered closed after an “active sewage backup” was found in the basement of the facility.
“Wastewater, debris and fecal matter” were found coming up from the drain.
The backup is considered an imminent hazard and the café is ordered closed until the plumbing is fixed with blockages removed.
The entire basement must be disinfected as well and all of the plumbing work needs to be completed by a “Registered Master Plumber.”
