Allegheny Technologies Incorporated and the United Steelworkers union restarted contract talks Monday morning.
About 1,300 USW members have been striking since March 30.
On Friday, USW proposed returning to negotiations with ATI to resolve the outstanding issues that led to the strike.
“Our progress has been hindered at every step by the company dragging its feet and violating labor law, McCall said in a release. “Now is the time for ATI to commit to resolve the outstanding issues in good faith at the bargaining table.”
“We have always believed that the solution to the outstanding issues must be found through the collective bargaining process, and we are willing to prove it,” he said. “It’s up to ATI to act responsibly and bargain in good faith with us for a fair agreement.”
