Big fireball streaks across Pittsburgh sky

Numerous social media posts last night about a bright light moving across the sky.

A large meteor was sighted just after 7:30 p.m.

The event was caught on thousands of door cameras across the meteor's path, including Phil Haddad who shared his video with KDKA Radio.

The American Meteor Society says they got reports mostly from Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

Local reports came in from Irwin, Ellwood City, New Castle, Pittsburgh, Hampton Township, Murrysville, along with several other locations.

Reports also came from Ontario, Michigan and Tennessee.

In total, The American Meteor Society has received nearly 850 reports.
