PennDOT continues to move forward with a plan to impose tolls on nine bridges around Pennsylvania, including one on I-79 in Bridgeville. The agency is doing this despite very negative feedback from taxpayers and lawmakers.
Now, an online petition against the toll proposal is gaining momentum. On the KDKA Morning Show, organizer Pete Linko said it is "the craziest thing he's ever heard of."
Linko says opposition is bipartisan, with over 14-thousand signatures.
If proposed tolls of one or two dollars are imposed, a daily commuter would pay an estimated five hundred to one thousand dollars a year.
Drivers looking to avoid paying the toll are expected to overwhelm the infrastructure in Bridgeville.
We encourage you to sign the petition.
