PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) A mother and father from Canonsburg are being charged with homicide after their 3-month-old daughter died from fentanyl toxicity.
The Washington County DA says Shannon McKnight and James May are facing multiple charges after the girl was found unresponsive on August 11th and later died at a hospital.
May and McKnight were found hiding in an attic crawl space after the baby's death.
The DA says the couple's other child, a 16-month-old boy, also tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl.
Police say officers found stamp bags and drug paraphernalia during a search of the home.
Prior to the death of the baby, May and McKnight were already facing charges of felony child endangerment and misdemeanor accounts of reckless endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A preliminary hearing date has yet to be set.
