Three Pittsburgh-area businesses have been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.
Diamond Beach in Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar, Hungry Panda operating in Squirrel Hill and the Dollar General Express in Downtown Pittsburgh have all been ordered closed.
Diamond Beach is considered a restaurant with liquor on the 1400 block of Washington Boulevard along the Allegheny River.
The Health Department says the establishment does not have a valid health permit and was hit with 11 violations including one considered high-risk.
There is lack of a three-compartment sink that is used to wash, rinse and sanitize. “Old food debris” was also found inside a “slushee machine” and ice container.
Dollar General on the 600 block of Wood Street was ordered closed because water to the facility has been turned off.
That means there is no waste-water disposal system and bathrooms are not operational.
Hungry Panda, which appears to be a food ordering app, based in New York City and operating in Squirrel Hills is operating without a valid health permit.
Food is also coming from an “unknown source”, no facilities to maintain temperatures and no handwashing areas.
Any updates to the affected businesses will be updated on the Health Department’s website.
