
A Consumer Alert has been issued by the Allegheny County Health Department after an inspection of a local pizzeria.
Mia Pizza on Baum Boulevard in Bloomfield was hit with 13 total violations after an inspection on Wednesday, May 8.
A high-risk violation of raw chicken wings at a dangerous temperature was observed. They were held in a walk-in cooler temped at 46 degrees.
An employee did know how long the chicken wings were in the cooler. They were thrown away.
Raw chicken was also observed on top of tomatoes inside a cooler. That is a repeat violation.
Fresh rodent droppings were found in several areas. That is also a repeat violation.
The front door was observed open and large flies were seen in the food preparation area.
A can opener blade was found “soiled” on a prep table.
