With the threat of major snow coming to the Buffalo area could the NFL move the Steelers/Bills game? This seems like a last resort for the NFL who want to avoid moving the game if they can.

UPDATE: NFL Officials and Steelers PR say they have NOT been told of the game potentially being moved to Cleveland.

93.7 The Fan’s Andrew Fillipponi says his contacts in the Buffalo area tell him there is zero chance the game is moved/postponed.

But, Big K Morning Show’s Marty Griffin says he knows people that work at Cleveland Browns Stadium and they’ve been told to “get ready”, meaning they could host the playoff game if the weather forecast is really bad.

Here is what’s known: It will be in the 20s on Sunday at game time with high winds around 30 miles per hour with gusts of 65. Wind chills will be near zero.

That’s January football.

What isn’t known yet the Buffalo area will get a large amount of snow.

AccuWeather says a lot of snow is heading toward the Buffalo area ahead this weekend.

Meteorologist Dean DeVore says the chance of precipitation ranges from 90 percent Saturday to 70 percent Sunday.

“We’re expecting massive amounts of lake effect snow in that area and that band could set up right over Orchard Park for several Saturday night into Sunday,” said DeVore.

DeVore thinks some road closures are possible, but don't expect the NFL to cancel the game. That hasn't happened since 1937.
