Travel troubles continue for airline passengers - especially those traveling on Southwest. The airline canceled 39 flights through Pittsburgh Tuesday... and at least 3 dozen flights so far for Wednesday.
Travel experts say they understand it's frustrating, considering the winter storm in our region ended days ago. But Southwest is struggling to restore service and work out crew schedules.
Marita Williams is manager of travel promotions for AAA. She says this event underscores the importance of buying travel insurance.
"Right now if you had a package or a cruise connected to your airline ticket, you definitely need the travel insurance," said Williams.
She also tells NewsRadio KDKA that your best bet is to download your airline's app for faster service because you'll wait hours on the phone to speak with an agent right now.
Passengers looking to rent a car are also out of luck, with no vehicles available.
President Joe Biden sent out a message on social media saying his administration is looking into the issues.
