Farmers' Almanac Editor: 'We're calling it a frosty, flip-flop winter'

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Winter is right around the corner, and the Farmers' Almanac has a prediction of what kind of weather we can expect in Pittsburgh.

"We're calling it a frosty, flip-flop winter," Farmers' Almanac Editor Pete Geiger said Thursday during the KDKA Radio Morning Show. "We talk about a big storm in the beginning of December, and then really frigidly cold over Christmas."

Pete says January will be unseasonably mild with a couple of storms. He expects a major storm at the end of February.

"Maybe two feet of snow," said Geiger. "And the middle of March - another big one."
