PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Bill Bratton, the former police commissioner of New York, Los Angeles and Boston, told the KDKA Radio Morning Show Thursday that so much of what went wrong in the 1970's is happening in 2021.

"We've got much to complacent with crime down in the country over the last 30 years, but it's back. Not back to what it was in 90-91, but if we're not careful, it can get back there very quickly," Bratton said.

The law enforcement officer entered the business to make America safer, and deal with the race issue.

"That's why I went to Los Angeles - because Los Angeles had the most fractured race relations of any city police department in America," said Bratton.

The 74-year-old believes your not going to solve the race issues in America without police", and your not going to solve the police problems in America without addressing the race issues.
