Michael Fantuzzo accused of stealing $246k

A Lower Burrell man is accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from an organization he served as treasurer.

According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, 40-year-old Michael Fantuzzo, stole $246,000 from the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association between 2021 and 2024.

Fantuzzo is accused of using the money to pay off credit cards, family vacations to Disney World and the Outer Banks, a country club membership, property taxes, a limousine service, and a $10,000 hot tub installation in his home.

Court documents say the organization had $264,000 in a savings account that is now empty.

Fantuzzo admitted to using funds but he said it was by accident.

He is free on $100,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for later this month.
