When temperatures hit the single digits last week, one woman's struggle to stay warm hit an extreme low.
For Ginger, her only relief was from several borrowed space heaters that she used to keep her pipes from freezing. Watch the video on this page to see how one of her co-workers reached out and how we brought in one man to make a huge difference.
Ginger's home is usually heated by propane gas, but that doesn't help when her tank is empty and because of late payments she's been bumped to the bottom of the fill-up list.
That's why her friend and co-worker Beth reached out to Get Marty. The cost to fill Ginger's tank is a little more than $1500 and in extreme cold months that tank may only last a month at a time.
That's a huge cost for this widow whose income is limited.
We're not using his name, because that's the way he wanted it, but this guy you'll hear in the video above is a true hero.
He stepped up and delivered enough money to keep Ginger warm and toasty the rest of this winter. How amazing is that!?!

We couldn't have made the connection without Beth, who stepped up to ask for help for her friend. This caring woman even offered for Ginger to stay with her to stay warm and safe, but Ginger turned her down to try and protect the pipes in her home.
This my friends is the true meaning of community. This is the meaning of friendship. This is how we make a difference together!
