Giant Eagle says myPerks will remain and expand after GetGo sale

Earlier this week, Giant Eagle announced the sale of all of its GetGo gas and convenience store locations to the owners of Circle K.

Giant Eagle CEO Bill Artman made sure that customers understand what changes will be made and what will stay the same after Couche-Tard officially acquires GetGo.

The thing on most people’s minds is what will happen to their myPerks?

“Everyone’s perks are safe,” Artman told KDKA Radio’s Marty Griffin. “Not only are they safe . . . but working together with Couche-Tard . . . we’re going to be able to expand the program which is going to be in the best interest of our customers and our team members as well.”

Artman says that all 270 locations across five states will keep the GetGo name after the sale is complete.

“They came to us because they really liked the brand,” said Artman.

Artman says the sale will likely be complete in late 2025 and customers won’t see much of a difference.

The sale of GetGo will allow Giant Eagle to continue to open new locations and renovate existing stores.

“Being able to reinvest in the value proposition, reinvest in price that our guests are going to appreciate . . . and then also keeping that loyalty program strong,” said Artman.

With supermarket competition continuing to heat up in the Pittsburgh area, Artman says they will now focus all of their efforts on grocery and pharmacy.
