Multiple agencies are investigating after an alleged incident Friday in one of Greensburg Salem’s elementary school classrooms.
In a letter to families in the district, Dr. Kenneth Bissell the incident, which details were not made available, was “immediately reportedly through ChildLine.”
“ChildLine is part of a mandated statewide child protective services program designed to accept child abuse referrals and general child,” the state’s website says.
Greensburg Salem officials are in contact with the Greensburg Police Department, The Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau and District Attorney’s office.
Bissell writes that all of the adults who are involved in the investigation have been taken out of the classroom and are not working with children.
Administrators have told the parents and guardians of the children that were inside the classroom at the time of the latest development and will continue to provide updates.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety of all students in our care and remain focused on our mission of educating every child to become contributing and responsible citizens,” Bissell wrote.
