After a cool 45 years in the broadcast business, which started in the year of our country’s bicentennial, KDKA Radio afternoon news anchor, Rose Ryan-Douglas, has decided to hang up the headsets.

After graduating Valley High School in New Kensington and Clarion State College (University), Rose started her incredible broadcast journey as a disc jockey and newscaster at WKPA and WYDD in New Kensington.

After a year each at WFFM and 96 KX, Rose made the move to 3WS where she anchored Morning News for almost 20 years.

Then on Halloween 2002, Rose came to KDKA Radio and has been anchoring here ever since.

Michael Spacciapolli , Sr. Vice President and Market Manager for Entercom Pittsburgh, said "Rose has been been the ultimate news professional, not only will we miss her on the air but her calming influence in the newsroom is irreplaceable. On behalf of all of us at KDKA Radio and our listeners we thank her for the tremendous work she has done over the years."

Rose’s last day on the air in Friday, February 26, 2021.

Congratulations on your next chapter, Rose!
