The Phoenix is about to take flight. Plans for an Uptown apartment building called Phoenix on Forbes have gotten the okay from the Pittsburgh Planning Commission.
The 211-unit complex is expected to be an eye-catcher, complete with 10 colorful banners to be designed by local artists overlooking Forbes Avenue.
It will comprise nearly an entire city block of Watson Street, Marion Street and Van Braam Street.
The Phoenix on Forbes will feature a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, 72 parking spaces, a swimming pool and a fitness center, 74 bicycle spaces and 1,365 square feet of ground floor space.
The new PRT Bus Rapid Transit route will be next to the apartment.
