County leaders are hosting a meeting in the South Side as part of the continued effort to curb crime in the neighborhood.
District Attorney Stephen Zappala and Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald continuing the conversation with South Side business owners in a private meeting.
Fitzgerald says the conversations are important as South Side becomes a more regional destination.
"We're going to be going and meet with some folks, and talking about some strategies. I think, not only do the people in the neighborhood want to see things calm down, but obviously, the businesses do as well."
Violence trickled on to East Carson Street again over the weekend, when Pittsburgh police say 25-year-old Jmel Jones allegedly shot someone nearly Roland Way, and was detained at 13th and Carson.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
