A popular Pittsburgh pizzeria has announced it’s closing for good at the end of the month.
After 45 years, Michael’s Pizza Bar on Sarah Street announced its last day for pizza will be on March 28.
The major announcement was almost an afterthought in Michael’s post Thursday.
“It's slice day and the sun is shining!! Drop by for a $1 plain slice (with a pop purchase) and enjoy the sunshine,” the restaurant wrote on Facebook.
It was only after that did they announce the impending closure.
“We’re so grateful for all the good times we've had serving our community and look forward to seeing you a time or two (or 10) before we go!!”
Michael’s is also known for its other food (hoagies, wings and more) as well as it’s specialty pies like Pierogie, mac & cheese, spaghetti pizzas and more.
No official word for the closing was given.
