PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — After just recently reopening, Port Authority will once again be shutting down the Monongahela Incline.
But it'll only be for three days to perform brake and load testing.
Starting next Wednesday morning, the incline will be closed.
It'll reopen next Friday afternoon, though.
Shuttle buses will still operate out of the upper and lower stations, however.
The frequency of the stops is still up in the air, though; it'll be dependent on Port Authority employee availability.
During the incline closure, riders at the lower station will board at the shelter behind the Station Square station, at least during the incline's regular hours of operation.
After the 8 p.m. cutoff time, those lower station riders will board at the bus stop on East Carson Street across from Station Square.
As for the upper station riders, they'll board at Grandview Avenue opposite Shiloh Street during the inspection days.
Also noteworthy, the 40-Mt. Washington route will become available for riders during the services days.
The Wabash Tunnel will also be open for outbound traffic during the span of the inspection.
Personnel from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry will be conducting the incline inspection.
