PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Early Saturday morning, Pittsburgh Police were called to the 200 block of Brownsville Road in Knoxville for reports of a female shot.
Responding officers found a female with a gunshot wound to her leg and was taken to the hospital.
A foot pursuit occurred between a male suspect and officers; an officer was shot in the vest by the suspect.
The officer was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The suspect was eventually arrested and taken to the hospital, as well, after suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
It is unclear how the suspect was shot because initial investigations found that no officers fired their weapons.
Allegheny County Homicide detectives are investigating the scene.
