If the NFL Draft comes to town, it could set local records.
The draft would bring an estimated 400,000 people willing to spend $160 million over the three-day event.
That's according to Visit Pittsburgh President and CEO Jerad Bacher.
He says if Pittsburgh wins the draft in either 2026 or 2027, it would be the largest event in city history.
“Those kind of events are typically are not events that you see in market, they typically don’t come on an annual basis, so when you are able to attract them and a lot of times they don’t return them in a lifetime so to speak, whenever you are able to attract them, they have such a huge impact,” said Bacher.
To compare, this year's Taylor Swift concert brought $46 million to the city - about a third of direct spend expected from the draft.
Kansas City received over $164 million in direct spend while they hosted the three-day event.
Bacher says the proposal suggests the North Shore as the focal point of the draft.
