North Hills School District reports 15 new COVID-19 cases, no schools to close

There are 15 new COVID-19 cases in the North Hills School District.

According to the district's website, the new cases were reported in the North Hills High School, McIntyre Elementary School, Highcliff Elementary School. North Hills Middle School and Ross Elementary School.

The cases involve students, teachers and staff and the dates of the cases range from December 21, 2020 to January 17, 2021.

The district had been educating student virtually until January 11.

Schools will only be closed within the district if it reaches a threshold set by the state in the most recent 14-day period based on school size.

For some schools that number could be as low as 4 cases or as high as 11.

According to the threshold numbers, none of the schools would need to close at this time.
