A family is still looking for answers one year after a local man was murdered outside a Braddock club.

Police say 39-year-old Jason Lewis was shot and killed outside the Sahara Temple after-hours club on February 16, 2020.

Lewis' family and friends are hosting a vigil in his honor Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m. at the Braddock Civic Plaza.

His wife, Takesha Lewis, tells KDKA Radio she hopes the vigil will bring new information to light.

"We're hoping that by having this vigil and the City of Pittsburgh seeing how well he was loved, maybe it will have people who know something speak up," she said.

Lewis describes her husband as a caring man who would "give you the shirt off his back," owned a successful landscaping business and coordinated an annual backpack drive for kids in Braddock.

"There will never be another Jason Lewis, that's how perfect his soul was," she said.

Allegheny County Police say the investigation into Lewis' murder is still ongoing. Following the shooting, they said they were reviewing surveillance footage of the area to identify any potential witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477).
